Genetic Disorder Research Paper: Questions

 

You need to find the answers to the following questions.  Use a separate note card for each question. See page 225 of Write Source 2000.  

 

Don’t forget to put the information that you need for your works cited on the back (sources).

 

*        What is the name of your genetic disorder?

 

*        What are the causes of the genetic disorder?

 

*        What is the effect of the genetic disorder on the body – (how does it affect the whole body, what are the symptoms)?

 

*        How common is the disorder in the general population?

 

*        Does the disorder affect some population groups more than others?

 

*        Is the disorder more common in some parts of the world than others? If so, where?

 

*        What kind of life does a person with the disorder lead?

 

*        Are there any treatments for the disorder?

Your research paper needs to have the following:

-report cover (with fasteners) no binders

 

-title page (title, your name, date, period)

 

-report:

Paragraph I:  Introduction

          -anecdote: a brief story used to illustrate or make a point

 

Paragraphs II., III., IV.: Body

          -organize the information you found from the questions and write them in paragraph form.  Remember to write the information in your own words.

 

Paragraph V: Conclusion

          -summarize the main points made in the paper and end with a strong closing sentence--one that will make a lasting impression
